Credit Database Formation

CEIS works with the client desiring to create and maintain a credit and loan standards database on its loan portfolio. The project captures basic credit and loan information on individual loan exposures as well as portfolio segments. The sources of the data are anticipated to be imported from the client’s loan accounting database as well as from financial statement spreadsheet and other credit and/or financial related systems, so long as the system(s) have open databases (SQL, Access, etc.). It is also understood that certain credit data may be available only from a manual capture procedure that is to be outlined during the project.

CEIS coordinates the project, and assists in selecting the software support necessary for the project’s completion. The software’s features should include the ability to import data from other systems, entry and import of financial data maintained as a part of the reporting database, allows user defined summaries and reports using reporting tools that can combine with other databases, maintain history for user defined periods, provide data for potential migration and comparative analysis.

CEIS assists the client in defining the reports expected from the database. This includes identifying / defining the data elements that are initially necessary to refine the client’s assessment of the loan portfolio’s credit profile. In collaboration with the client, CEIS will draw up drafts of likely reports to be considered. This collaboration will result in establishing the data elements and the sources of the data that will be at least initially necessary to create the credit database.
